The city of Larissa was twinned with the Anapa of Russia

Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis, who will speak at the forum on Greek-Russian relations, as well as a representative of the Secretariat of Worldwide Hellenic Affairs, will be at the Larissa TEI premises on Saturday, as part of the Larisa-Anapa twinning.

Also, within the same forum will be spoken, inter alia, the representative of the Russian ambassador to our country and the head of the cultural and humanitarian cooperation section of the embassy Fyodor Kalidov, the president of the Greek community of Krasnodarikos Ep. and the President of the Federation of Pontic Associations of Greece Christos Topalidis and others of the Hellenic-Russian Friendship and Cooperation Association.

Anapa is a spa town in the Krasnodar region, the headquarters of the province of Anapa in the northern Black Sea coast and has a population of about 60,000. It is related to modern and ancient Greek history and as early as the 6th century BC. King Gorgippos founded a Greek colony at this place called Gorgippos.

In the city of Anapa, there is a Greek community of about 3,500 Greeks. The community is particularly active in maintaining traditions and strengthening ties with Greece.

It has the Greek folk theater "Eleftheria", the only Russian-language theater in Russia in the Greek language, the Pontic Greek folk dance group "Gorgippia", the Greek folk dance group "Gelelios" and the "Pontos" football team.
