Located on the long sandy beach of Kallithea, just over six miles from the capital of Rhodes and the medieval old town. Comely Anthony Quinn Bay is a 12-minute drive to the south, while the Cycladic-style village of Lindos and its ancient acropolis are a 41-minute drive away. The Butterfly Valley, which hosts an elusive subspecies of the Jersey tiger species, is a half-hour drive from the west.
The owner has clearly invested considerable effort in renovating the 699-room seaside resort using high-quality materials. Although there are adult-only areas, such as a dedicated pool and a connected bar, it is particularly suitable for families. Neutral tones dominate in public places. The main restaurant areas are enlivened by bright plum and emerald furnishings. Bonsai-style olive trees adorn the sprawling pool area.
One long-time manager has happily received generations of guests, some of whom have been visiting regularly for 30 years, a testament to the staff's commitment. Young people of all ages can be entertained for hours in the large water park, where magicians, singers and comedy perform every day. Older teens prefer to use the four swimming pools, beach volleyball court, tennis courts and water sports, the latter at an additional cost. Babysitting services allow parents to relax in the spa for a massage, but make sure to book treatments in advance. Access to the on-site doctor ensures peace of mind.Bar Beach Health center Kids club Laundry Parking Swimming pool Restaurant Room service Sauna Spa Steam room / hammam Tennis court Wi-Fi Rooms 7/10
The rooms are relatively spacious and well-planned, and the sliding doors in the family rooms separate the main bedroom from the children's ones. The double beds and triples are covered in light gray, navy and baby blue. Room 92, spotted with beige walls and Thai-style wooden chests of drawers, has a shared studio with a shared pool, sea views and an attractive sun bath.
Soundproofing didn't completely silence the crowd's talk and music from the cocktail bar to 2 p.m. Room 6001, Executive Suite, offers uninterrupted sea views. The elite package includes five villas, which are somewhat expensive for this type of hotel (circa 2000 1726).
Extensive all-inclusive packages ensure that your appetite is always satisfied. The varied breakfast, which includes a thick omelette, creamy rice pudding and local pink bubbles, runs until 11:00 in the main restaurant, which has a separate adult section. Gyros, souvlaki and burgers are served at the beachfront snack bar. Buffet dinners feature alternating Greek classics, such as moussaka, and children-friendly standards, such as Bolognese spaghetti. Rhodia flavors would enhance the spread of lunch and dinner.
Guests booked with the Diamond Package have access to the elegant Executive Lounge, which serves breakfast, sweets and drinks. They also have unlimited access to three beautifully decorated à la carte restaurants, namely Greek, Italian and Asian, while guests with a gold package can dine every week.
