In Anapa, prosecutors defended the rights of the visually impaired
The resort’s prosecutor’s office demanded that housing and communal services organizations install versions for the visually impaired on official sites.
The audit found that a number of management companies and resource supplying organizations & nbsp; they did not provide guaranteed by the state free unhindered access for people with disabilities to information posted on the official websites of organizations. This was told to us by the assistant of the Anapa inter-district prosecutor & nbsp; Yuri Tashu.
The Federal Law “On the Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in the Russian Federation” obliges organizations to create conditions for people with disabilities to freely use communications and information. State standards provide for a mandatory alternative version for the visually impaired in cases where the site has a significant number of elements, access to which is difficult for this category of citizens.
On the official websites of the organizations there was no alternative version for the visually impaired, as well as a hyperlink to go to the site version for the visually impaired, which violated the right of the visually impaired to free access to information.
In connection with the revealed violations by the prosecutor's office, the leaders of organizations of the housing and communal complex made representations with the requirement to ensure access for disabled people to the information posted on the websites.
Based on the results of consideration of acts of prosecutorial response, violations were eliminated, guilty officials were brought to disciplinary action.
We remind you that in Anapa the police and volunteers of the search and rescue squad “Lisa Alert”, & nbsp; operating in our resort, are looking for a 15-year-old child with a childhood disability who on September 20 & nbsp; left in an unknown direction from the Anapa Children's Hospital.
