The 2018 European boxing youth finals were held today in Anapa, Russia. Four Italians arrived: Michele Baldassi, Yassin Hermi, Lucia Elen Ayari and Miriam Tommasone. Of these, Baldassi managed to win the gold in the 50 kg, while the other three were defeated in the last act and were therefore recipients of the silver medal.
Michele Baldassi, in his final, was right about the Georgian Luka Nikabadze with a favorable verdict of four out of five judges, after having demonstrated his state of form throughout the whole of the event. For the other blue finalist, Yassin Hermi (70 kg), the insurmountable obstacle was called Mikhail Usov: the Russian managed to turn in his favor the fate of a balanced match, finished 4-1 in his favor.
The female sector instead saw two silvers arrive: Lucia Elen Ayari (50 kg) was defeated by the Montenegrin Bojana Gojkovic 4-1, while different fate fell to Miriam Tommasone, who was counted and declared defeated by the referee after the Russian Luiza Orets had dealt a powerful direct in her face.
The continental event, therefore, ends with a gold, three silvers and three bronzes for the Italian expedition: for men, in particular, there was a gold and a silver, while for women the count is of two silvers and three bronzes.
